After sharing my mom’s story last week, I had a few conversations with people about how hard it can be just to start the day – especially when there’s a lot going on.

Are you a ‘snoozer’?

And by that, I mean –
do you smack the snooze button like a Whack-A-Mole game at the fair when your alarm goes off in the morning?

Again.

And again.

In my high school, university, and hospital shift-work years, I played that little cheat game:
setting my alarm half an hour earlier than needed to buy myself not one or two but THREE snoozes – spaced 9 minutes apart.

In my mind, it felt like a win.
A gentle way to ease into the day.

But in reality?
I felt more sluggish.
More resentful.
Tired before the day had even begun only to stick out bumper-to-bumper traffic for more than an hour.

Sometimes it’s just hard to get going in the morning.
Dragging yourself out of bed.
Running on empty before your feet even hit the floor.

And that feeling can really wear you down.
Day after day,
year after year.

But here’s the thing – when I’m energised in the morning
Everything feels lighter.
I think more clearly.
I move with more ease.
I make better decisions.

That shift?
It doesn’t take much.

This week, I’m sharing 3 ways I gently ease into my day
a simple morning routine that makes a big difference in my energy throughout the day.
