Here’s a health tip for your weekend. For “YOUR QI HEALTH MINUTE” today we are going to bring our attention to our knees which, believe it or not, is where nurturing proper posture begins.
A couple of years ago I was sorting through old shoeboxes of photos that to this day still await my best intentions to be put into albums. Laughter at of our wedding, joy the days our children blessed us coming into this world and then…whoa.
A collapsed figure, akin to the Hunchback of Notre Dame, slouching with a toddler hand-in-hand on each side.
It was me.
After almost two decades of training in Tai Chi and Qi Gong, I now have a clearer understanding of the role proper posture has to our overall health.
Proper posture is key to efficient breathing, for internal organs to have their natural space and relieving stress and tension from our lower backs and neck and shoulders so that we are no longer low on energy, chronically fatigued or suffering from sleep deprivation with headaches or migraines – all symptoms that I experienced regularly way back then.
Paying attention to whether or not you lock your knees is a great starting point to improving your posture.
