What is Your Body Really Trying to Tell You?

I invite you to take a moment to tune into your body – what’s calling for your attention?
One of the first places stuck energy shows up is in our physical body.
Sometimes it’s obvious – like the ache in your lower back that never really goes away, the stiff shoulders after long days at your desk, or the headaches that creep in when you’re already exhausted.
Other times, it sneaks in more quietly – restless sleep, digestive discomfort, or that sense that you’re “slowing down” even when you’re not sure why.
And when pain or discomfort shows up, it’s natural to want it to just go away – to think something is wrong or that something needs to be fixed.
Yet so often, pain is the body’s wisdom letting us know where there’s stuck energy – it guides us to the very place that’s asking for our healing attention.
I’ve seen this so many times.
Scott’s story is a powerful example. Aside from living with Parkinson’s, he’d been told by his doctor that arthritis meant his back pain was something he would just have to live with.
It felt like his body was turning against him.
Determined to find alternative treatments without medication, Scott began exploring practices to help himself – first yoga, and then, six months later, adding Qi Gong into his daily routine.
That’s when things truly started to shift. His physiotherapist was amazed. “What’s up with your back? Your back is straight and your posture’s good!” No S-curve, no pain.
And Tara – before learning Tai Chi, she had lived with chronic back pain for years, trying everything she could to find relief. Nothing was helping.
She learned ways to gently break the pain cycle – how to move with confidence again, how to breathe and let things go, and how to trust what her body was telling her.
And they’re not alone. Again and again, I’ve seen people release chronic pain, step back from medications, and regain the strength and joy to do what they love – hitting balls on the court, tending the garden, or simply waking up with a sense of ease.
Our physical body has an amazing capacity to return to centre and alignment when we give it the tools it needs.
Movement, breath, and a deeper body–mind–spirit connection, create the space for energy to flow again – and when it does, every part of us benefits.
So I’ll leave you with this reflection:
Is there a part of your body speaking to you these days?
How is it asking for your attention and care?
Next, we’ll move into the Emotional Body – and how what we feel shows up in our everyday health.
