Wherever you are…

A couple of years ago, just two days before Christmas, an incredible ice storm swept in, and all flights across Canada were cancelled.
Literally two hours before our son’s flight was to take off and bring him home for the holidays.
Of course, we were disappointed. It was the first Christmas ever that the four of us weren’t together, and even then, we understood that these opportunities with our grown children would change.
We did laugh and hang out together on a video call, showing each other what was under the tree in our separate locations. So we did share some time in the spirit of love.
Yet, during dinner and at the outer edges of the day, it felt like something was missing; that something was not quite complete.
In a past conversation, he and I had talked about what family visits might look like in the future – he and his sister are based in different places. Do we make plans? Do they come home?
That’s when he beautifully said, “Wherever we’re together…that’s home.”
The missing piece wasn’t that he wasn’t with us – it was that we weren’t ‘home.’ So, that year, we had Christmas somewhere else.
This year, we are ‘home’ – the four of us together, in one place, sharing lots of laughs and hugs.
However you celebrate the holiday season – wherever you are, whoever you’re with, and whatever you’re doing –
I send you Love and Blessings for Strong Health and Joyous Well-Being at the turn of this year and all through 2026!
